Hinweis: Dies ist die englischsprachige Version von Top Gear: Australia. Top Gear Australia returns to the Nine Network in 2011 for all new Series 4. Hosts Shane Jacobson, Ewen Page and Steve Pizzati are back behind the wheel with six new episodes filled with Top Gear challenges, stunts and car reviews, plus the new segment V8 to the Rescue. Every Aussie knows that adding a V8 to something makes it better. So, is there any problem in the world that a V8 can’t fix? Well Top Gear Australia finds out in V8 to the Rescue. Adding a bit more juice to common problems, the boys explore ways to remove serial pests, investigate how to mix a cocktail for 4,000 thirsty partiers, how to cook and plate up kebabs in record time, and come up with a bowling machine tipped to help Australia win back the Ashes. In another new segment Ewen, Steve and Shane take on Australian lawmakers in relation to motoring laws. Each episode the boys highlight and question the lack of common sense and safety of road rules passed by the government. It has been five years since motorsport icon Peter Brock died. To commemorate this anniversary and pay tribute to the fallen legend, Top Gear puts another Australian motoring star in the car that made Brock a legend and sends him around Bathurst to reminisce about their rivalry. Also this series the boys test drive a multi-award winning Aussie hot rod worth $3 million and at the bottom end of the market they simulate 10 years of wear and tear to test the durability of one worth just $11,000. They endeavour to break two world records, attempt to pass a driving test, and hit the beach in self-made beach buggies – something every Australian should have. The hosts singlehandedly reinvigorate rally driving and Shane sends Steve back to driving school – well Drag Race School actually. And the boys choreograph their very own movie car stunt sequence for $300. Top Gear Australia also buys into the green-car debate and asks, “Do new ‘green’ cars actually work and do they help?” Plus there are new stars on the Top Gear Australia track.
