In the year 2029, police officer Alex Murphy is murdered by a gang of criminals. Looking to test out new technology in law enforcement, mega-corporation Omni Consumer Products are granted permission to take control of the Detroit Police Department. They revive officer Murphy and turn him into Robocop – a heavily armored cyborg with no memory of his former life.
