Lieutenant Douglas Miller, a damaged, lone ace pilot who managed to survive the Battle of Britain, goes to RAF Bomber Command with a burning desire to wage war over Germany. He is incensed and grieving over the passing of his little brother. When he gets to his new job, he is given the unpleasant duty of taking over as captain of a veteran Lancaster bomber crew after their leader was just killed in action. Miller needs to get his new crew to buy into his leadership while he takes on the German air force.
